Beetle Infestation

Pine beetles can do extensive damage to certain types of pine trees in our area.  Once a tree has been attacked, there is little chance of recovery since pheromones released by the beetles attract additional females to compromised trees where they will continue to lay eggs until the tree has died.

The USDA has an overview of the problem along with recommendations to help control them.  It is important to manage infected trees as quickly as possible.
